MAMA INDIA

..for those who take pleasure in their transformations.

Ethical Artisanal Fashion

We handpick raw-materials

that fascinate us from different parts of India, including natural fabrics like

hemp, jute, bamboo, finest cotton, linen,

raw silk and other handwoven textiles,

as well as small handicraft trinkets, to create designs that are a result of our unchecked imagination, varied moods, and inspiration by styles of different eras, cultures, and peoples of the world.

Mama India is an ethical artisanal fashion brand.
Our designs feature a combination of traditionally handwoven natural textiles like khadi, bamboo, jute and their blends and other recycled fabrics. We involve ourselves in every step of the creation process including the selection and production of raw materials. We ensure that the yarn for the textiles comes from an organic, fair-trade source , encourage the ancestral technique of hand-spinning the yarn, and employ traditional natural dyeing methods for colouring the yarn, which is then handwoven on the loom by our team of talented artisans. We also experiement with upcycling methods to reduce wastage. The expertise, talent and love of a lot of hardworking, honest artisans makes this a humbling, fascinating journey.

OUR STORY

Mama India is born out of our love for travelling and art, and the desire to use the array of impressions we absorb during our journeys, to create something tangible that resonates with the liberating feeling of self - expression.
